Xbox one s power/ eject pcb

I recently bought a broken Xbox one s in hopes of building a pc in it, I wanted to use the original daughter board that came with it with the original power/ eject buttons but when I found which pins shorted on the Xbox, I tried jamming wires into the respective pin holes then hooking them up to the power switch pins on my mother board, the connections were definitely there I tested with a multimeter but when I pressed the button nothing happened, anyone know how to get it working?
