So I have a new build(Building one for myself and a friend). I have an issue of it shutting down. It was working fine for 2 weeks then one day it just shuts down. I thought a piece was was overheating, let it cool turned of PSU came back(everything cooled) started up after 30 mins shuts down. All drivers are up to date. I've swapped parts with the other PC and all parts are working. Thought it was the motherboard, other issues came up, exchanged it from an MSI MPG X670E Carbon to the ASUS Rog Strix X670E-E. Installed it in case worked fine then shut down after 30 to 45 mins of very light use. Took it out onto a test bench, works perfect, put back in the case won't start up. I am dumbfounded. Never after all my builds am I so confused. Only thing I can think of is the case is shorting out the board somehow but I see no issues with the contact spots to make this a thing.

Case: MSI 100R
Motherboarth: Asus Rog Strix X670E-E

CPU: AMD 7700X

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12A

Ram: Teamgroup 2x16gb 6000hz CL30

PSU: Seasonic Focus 1000w Gold

GPU: EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra

Hm, I was gonna say the PSU but 1000W and from Seasonic I doubt it its the problem.

Try to unplug headers of the case from the mobo (This includes power button). Turn on the pc using START button on mobo and see what happens. Double check and re-seat 24pin connector, and 2x8pin connector of mobo.

To be an expert is to know more about less.

Okay, so update: I tried the suggestion, problem continues. I reinstalled Windows continue to have the problem. The problem is doing it in the case and on the test bench. So doesn't matter where anymore.

Remember I have two computer almost identical.

The following I have tried:
Swapped GPUs

Swapped PSUs

Swapped RAM

Swapped CPUs

Swapped M.2 Drives

Pulled Power Switch pins
Reinstalled Windows

The only differnces between the two now is the motherboard(use to be the same problem happened on both) and CPU Cooler(Comp A: Noctua NH-U12A/Comp B: Noctua NH-D15)

I do notice that if I run 3dMark or start any game it happens immediately or within 10-15 minutes of play. Windows Event Log also is no use(The previous system shutdown at 7:14:09 AM on ‎1/‎12/‎2023 was unexpected.) All the logs are non-descriptive.

Comp A:(currently on test bench)

Case: MSI 100R
Motherboarth: Asus Rog Strix X670E-E

CPU: AMD 7700X

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12A

Ram: Teamgroup 2x16gb 6000hz CL30

GPU: EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra

Drives: 2 M.2 WD Black, 1x500GB 1x2TB, 1-HDD 720RPM 500GB(Been driving through all my comps)

Comp B:

Case: BE QUIET! 500DX
Motherboarth: MSI MPG X670E Carbon Wifi

CPU: AMD 7700X

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

Ram: Teamgroup 2x16gb 6000hz CL30

PSU: Seasonic Focus 1000w Gold

GPU: EVGA 3090 FTW3

Drives: 2 M.2 WD Black, 1x500GB 1x2TB
