Computer Randomly Shutting Off

Go to solution Solved by Kazooduck,

Please check cables are all secure, if you dropped or bumped the pc it could have dislodged something. There is a really low chance this is software if it affects the fan lighting…

My computer has been randomly shutting off and I'm scared!

It's happened on start, rarely in a game, just randomly browsing, and has no consistency. It doesn't seem to be due to high heat or power draw because my temps are fine and my psu fan is going.

I have updated windows, installed drivers custom where they wipe the old one, done a scan with Aura for viruses, and have changed the power plug to go directly into the wall and not into my Anker Power Strip Surge Protector. (My friend said it could be affecting, but I don't think it is)  Oh! And now one on my rgb fans strobes on start up until I boot into windows. My life is falling apart please help.

Thanks for the help in advance you are awesome.

My Build:

Intel i5 12600k

Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro

Asus ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4

G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200

Gigabyte AORUS MASTER GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB Video Card

Corsair RM750x (2021) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Tried to attach video but file too large

Accidentally put restart which it's not doing- just flatlining

my dad had the same issue, its probable that its the auto-reboot setting enabled........heres how to disable it......go to start menu---type in "run" and click on the "run" app, then type in the "run" window, "sysdm.cpl" and ENTER----this will open a new window.   click on the tab labeld "advanced", then click on settings.....that will open a new window. -----go to the check-box labeled "automatic restart" or somthing like that and make shure that its UN-CHECKED. that will hopefully be the answer to your issue!

@Scorpion_3381your suggestions only changes the behaviour in case of a BSOD. The settings "automatic restart" will tell windows to automatically restart after a BSOD. Otherwise it will stay at the BSOD window.

Does it shut off without reboot?

Can you immediately turn it back on?

How have you checked the temps of the CPU and GPU? In hwinfo?

Can you run furmark (GPU stress test and CPU burner (I always leave 2 threads for the system, in my case 12 threads max - 2 for system =10)) and monitor the temps with hwinfo. GPU temp is displayed in furmark.

I was using Armoury Crate to monitor temperatures.

Yes it does shut off without reboot and yes I can immediately restart, but very rarely it will cut when starting and I have to click again. I will download furmark and check.
