Floatplane on Fire TV

Has anyone managed to get the Floatplane app to sideload onto a Fire TV?

 

I've heard of people saying they've managed to install the app on Android TV, and given Fire OS is basically Android and most apps work, I thought I'd give it a try.

 

After installing I open the app, the screen goes 'floatplane blue' for a second, then it seems to try and only use half the screen (kind of like it's a vertical screen), then crashes.
