steamos problems

Hi

I have installed steam os on a asus eeepc.

And it runs very slow for example when I move my mouse it wil move on the screen 2 secs later and very choppy thats why I didnt came further than setting the time zone and now it wont go further ,and the linux desktop acted normal 

 

are this problems with steamos or is the hardware from the pc just to low end.

pc hardware:

• cpu:Intel® Atom™ N550 (Dual Core; 1.5GHz) Processor
• ram:DDR2, 1 x SO-DIMM, 1GB
• storage:320GB HDD
• os: windows 7 starter + steam os

sorry mate it is just too old and weak to handle steam  os

Its probably the hardware. Also running dual OS on that small hard drive is probably not advisable

People overrate Linux's low resource footprint. Yeah you can get it to run on super low specs if you want to run a extremely stripped down version and/or with no GUI, but at that point you can just do the exact same thing with Windows anyway if you really wanted to.
