Activating D.O.C.P: When I turn PC on, it shut down and immediately restart after

Hello,
I'm encountring a problem with my RAM, here's my config:
CPU: AMD 3950x
MOBO: ASUS TUF X570 Gaming Plus
RAM: 4 x 32 Gb Corsair Vengeance, 128 GB, two of this kit https://www.corsair.com/fr/fr/Catégories/Produits/Mémoire/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK64GX4M2D3000C16#tab-tech-specs but one is older than the other, one from 2020 and one from 2022) 
GPU: MSI RTX 4090 Gaming Trio 
PSU: MSI A1000G 1000w (not the PCI3 one)

When I clear the CMOS, Pc works fine and normally, but the RAM is at 2133 Mhz. The moment I enable the D.O.C.P, when I shut down the PC then restart it here's what happens:

- PC is turned off. I turn on PC
- PC starts for 1 second then:
- PC shut down for 3 to 4 seconds

- PC restart again (by itself)

 

This happens also if I clear CMOS (so back to standard setup) and put the memory clock at 3000 Mhz manually (no voltage, nothing else just the memory clock)

It's driving me crasy abit because this does not happen with my old GPU (an rtx 3090) I can't figure out what's causing this problem. 

I did a MEMTEST86 and it passed, no errors at all. I did DDU my gpu correctly, cleared CMOS alot of times, swapped the RAMS (some cases the pc won't boot at all), I don't know what to do more.

Any ideas please?

Running 4 sticks at 3200 (I assume) can be problematic with a  ryzen cpu from that gen and previous. 
 

I run a 2700x and had difficulties running xmp @3200mhz once I had four sticks. 
 

What fixed it for me is enable xmp but manually put the voltage higher and that fixed it for me. 
 

I am not sure if this is the same case with a thread ripper though so hope it works

Hi,

My ram is at 3000Mhz actually, and my CPU is not a threadripper but a Ryzen 9.

Sadly even If i manually change the memory clock only, it happens again

Yes I updated the Bios to the latest version , it happened too with the previous one

you could try set at 3000mhz, and then up the voltage by 0.1V Over the volt spec on the stick.

That's the thing, when I clear CMOS Ram get's back to 2133 Mhz, when I change it manually to 3000 Mhz it happens again.

Don't do it manually, apply DOCP first then decrease the RAM clocks.

to which clock ? I enabled DOCP and tried 2933Mhz already it didn't work sadly.

If you enable docp/xmp in the bios, and up the voltage & then save and reboot, what happens then?

Download memory thaiphoon and share the screenshots showing exactly which RAM is on which module. The RAM might be different.

It might simply need you to swap A1B1 RAM with A2B2 RAM.

I'll try to up the voltage after activating DOCP and see what happens, BRB.

I enabled docp and upped the voltage by +0.1, nothing changed

When I enable DOCP, i get this notice:
Performance is usually best when Memory clock:FCLK is 1:1 Synch
Maximum FCLK stability is around 1800Mhz
Over-volting SOC may cause instability on Gen 4.0 Devices

Okay, now i'm creating a combo list of the swapped ram slots, i'm testing if it boots and if it's gonna fix it, i'll show you. I'll test that program later.

That program identifies the RAM on the modules.

If you have a set of better RAM and a set of worse RAM, the worse RAM should be in the primary channels - so that the system sets the timings based on their XMP data.

Taiphoon Burner was blocked, VirusTotal says it's a total mess even Windows Defender blocked it, so I would like to avoid it, i'm not comfortable with it, any suggestion?

when I tested the older rams on the primary channels, here's what happens: I turn on PC and it gets stuck with an orange light for the ram, I click on reboot button on my case (while it's till loading), then windows open up, I didn't see the BIOS menu at all it stayed black until windows loaded

Are you sure the older RAM isn't faulty? Did you test it with PassMark memtest86?

 

Also, Thaiphoon Burner isn't malware.

Yes I did Memtest86 it took +30 hours to do the 128Gb.

I really don't want to take the risk for Taiphoon, is it the only program for this task? isn't there any other one?

Does not work as it should. Trash at this time.

 

All of my RAM modules are SK Hynix; 2 are CJR and 2 JJR. Kingston doesn't make RAM.

I've read somewhere that the more ram you have, the lower frequency they will be, since my mobo can handle only 128gb and i'm already at 128gb, maybe because i'm trying to overclock them with DOCP that this happens, what do you think? When I had 64gb only it worked fine!
Maybe the mobo tries to regulate the speeds automatically and set them to 2133Mhz to be stable!
This could be the reason right?
