Vertically mounting GPU with Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler.

mr570

Hey all, didn't know where to post this exactly so forgive me if it's in the wrong spot.

I just bought an RTX 4080 Gigabyte Aorus Master. Didn't know this at the time, but it's the biggest 4000 series card you can get. Whoops!

My current setup looks like this:

  • Lian Li PC O11 Dynamic Evo
  • Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU cooler
  • horizontally mounted RX 6900XT

So, I bought a vertical GPU mount from Amazon (LinkUp AVA bracket) and the new setup should be my current setup while I attempt to mount the Aorus Master vertically. But I don't think I'm going to have enough clearance because that thing is freaking huge. Horizontal orientation is out of the question because the 12vhpwr adapter won't have the clearance it needs to properly close the glass side panel. I might have to end up rearranging case fans, returning the vert mount, and getting the Lian Li upright mount instead.

Does anyone have any experience vertically mounting a large GPU with a Dark Rock Pro 4? Am I as SOL as I think I am?
