Hi, I want to buy Fractal Desing Define 7 case which has 2x USB 3 ports on the front panel. And Asus Prime Z790-A Wifi motherboard which claims: The USB 3.2 Gen 1 header allows you to connect a USB 3.2 Gen 1 module for
additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 header provides data transfer
speeds of up to 5 Gb/s.

I'm curious that if both ports on the case are plugged into one usb header on motherboard what will be the max speed of flash drives if using both at the same time? Will every flash drive goes for max speed 5 Gb/s? Or the max speed will be split for those two flash drives?

Thanks for advice.

My guess is that the maximum throughput will be split between both ports if they're plugged into the same header, but I'm honestly not sure.

I feel like a modern USB controller should allow max speed for 2 ports at once, especially if it's designed with the idea of plugging both ports into the single header.
