im quite happy with my iPad mini. got 10 GB of manga in it. Can't talk for android, but i feel a 7-inch screen is enough for the job.

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

Do you need all of them on the tablet or would you be willing to take a small drive with you where you can access the drive wirelessly from your tablet?

It's up to you and what the reviews are, I personally have never used a wireless storage device myself but it was just a suggestion for the type of thing that you could use.

I recommend an EVGA Tegra Note 7 and an external microSD card to store your comics.

The EVGA Tegra Note 7 also includes many other features for a solid price that is under $200 USD (depending on what online vendor). Furthermore it is powered by the Tegra 4 SoC which means it will be extremely good for gaming and other operations.

I agree that it is great for the price, but the screen really isn't too amazing. If that is fine, then go for it, if not, then this is not an option.
