Have the stuff to rough cut lumber? You can make one pretty cheap. Mine was ~$150.

What's with the microphone? do you have a pirate radio station?

So the microphone started because I play with a couple people who stream and I used to have a crap mic. To the point to where I could barely play when they wanted to stream or edit for videos. The original AT2020+ I got as a "Christmas present" from someone who has them as a sponsor. I've since switched to XLR to work with my interfaces. I've turned into the "sound board guy" of the group. I don't actually stream or make content, but that stream deck has about 3 pages full from our game plays that pops back up for them from time to time.

The boxes I like, I do the same.

So that desk is laid out a bit weird. Computer tower and left is play, to the right is work. Those boxes are only temporarily mine. I do repair in my free time as a "I eventually want to get out of mining with this and a part time job" semi retirement plan. The only box down there that isn't going to get resold when I get it fixed is the A750 box tucked towards the wall. And the bottle of jack is there because it helps with work and play. Same with the black "not nicotene" vape.

I actually made the whole desk slightly too big.

That door behind the desk there hides the water heater. I ended up just pulling the screws out of the wall side of the hinges and just let the knob hold the door up. It's a sliding door, but doesn't slide by design. It's hard to see there, but there's just enough room for a person to squeeze between the desk and the door to remove the door.

On topic, I think people forget desks don't have to be pretty as long as it does what you need it to. Just look at my joints and screws on the top. But if I mess it up, I'm not messing up a $300 or $400 desk of the same size and have no way to replace the top. I just go get a sheet of plywood out of the garage, put a little bit of a finish on it and screw it in place.
