I got a new pc bulid. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with Asrock B550M Steel Legend, 2 kit of Corsair Vebegance RGB Pro (4x8GB) 3600 C16. If I set the XMP, the sytem not start up, if I remove 1 stick of ram from the nearest slot from the CPU, the system works fine. If I set ram speed to auto (2133MHz) I can use all the four slots. Everything is brand new. I tried different brand of ram same problem. With active XMP and manualy adjusting the freqency to 3066MHz it can boot up well. Motherboard or CPU problem?

Try 2 sticks in A2 and B2 slot.

Are you running the latest Bios on your motherboard?

Ryzen 5000 very picky on memory chips, i learned it the hard way, my 5700g refuse to boot with my old samsung c-die chips, found some microns and it just booted straight away.

The problem with corsair vengeance is they use many chips on the same stick model. So your first kit may not use the same chips as the other one.

You better check on that. My suggestion is return the memory kits and just get a 2x16gb instead.

Latest bios is flashed, two vendors 3 kind of ram tested, in A1 slot only boots if maxed frequency is 3200mhz with XMP on, and Infinity fabric manually set to 1600 MHz. Thr other A2, B1, B2 slot are run the ram wiht XMP 3600 MHZ rated speed. CPU swapped with another 5800X (my older CPU), same probleme. Got a same MB it can use the G.SKILL Ripjaws V 3600 C18 with XMP on satble, but in the new MB it not works even with the older 5800X.

Prevously I have tested in gaming performance, if I use 4 stick of 3200 ram, the performace is equal to 2 stick of 3600 ram.

try this, plug only 1 in slot A2, set xmp or manual overclock. if reboot ok, shutdown and plug the rest.

the motherboard manual suggested if 4 slots populated, the max speed is 2993, and this is for 3600, which has an excellent memory controller.

I have already done this, this is why I noticed that 1 slot (A1) can't handle the XMP speed, the other slots can. I got a same motherboard and cpu with GSKILL rams with nearly same specs, it works fine all the four dimms, but if I put the Corsair ram into this sysem, it not working with XMP. If I swap the MB and using the cpu that is likse the GSKILL rams, it also not works with XMP.

How do you know that, you can't plug single stick in A1 or B1.

For ryzen mobo, you must plug it in order like the image above.

So it's A2 for 1 stick, A2&B2 for 2 sticks and so on.

Also notice that only single rank modules are best for 4 slots.

If you have dual rank module, the speed will be limited.

Check the module chipset & rank (if you can boot it to windows) with cpuz.

Look up the "dram manuf" and "ranks"
