Hey yo, hope you guys are doing well. So I just graduated and started a full time job in the office and currently saving to build my first ever custom build PC (budget PC). Do you guys have any suggestion for me to build it because I am not that fully familiar with it as I only just begun to look into it.

you can start by checking out builds on https://pcpartpicker.com/.

and try mix and matching your own build using the builder in pcpartpicker.

for a budget gaming pc I would recommend something like:

  • AMD Ryzen5 5600
  • B550 Motherboard
  • 16GB 8x2 3200mhz CL16 Ram
  • 1TB SSD
  • Radeon RX6700

RELOAD BEFOR QUOTING. I EDIT MY POST ALOT!

MARK MY POST AS THE ANSWER IF I HELPED.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 | GPU: RTX 2070 Super | Mobo: MSI X470 Gaming Pro | RAM: Corsair vengeance 32GB 8x2 3200mhz CL16 | SSD: Samsung QVO 870 1TB | PSU: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 750 Gold 750 W 80+ Gold | Cooler: Thermaltake Contac Silent

Ayo thanks man appreciate it, will give the website a try.

It's not really going to help you much, apart from compatibility checking. It doesn't show Malaysia prices, and I assume those are completely different from the US.

Do you have links to stores you can buy from?

I did came through a few stores that I can buy from but I do not know which one is more "verified" and have access to a variety of hardware because most of those stores are rather new

Look up some reviews of the stores. If it has good reviews, you're good to buy from there.

CPU & motherboard

Go for a 12400F + B660 or 5600 + B550, whichever is cheaper. Do not get the 5600G. Or if you want you can spend extra on a 13600K, but you'll need an LGA 1700 board with BIOS flashback. For both the Intel and AMD boards, I highly recommend the Gigabyte Gaming X or MSI A Pro.

Memory

Get the cheapest 2x8 3200mhz CL16 or 3600mhz CL18 kit, or if you do a lot of multi tasking or anything else that requires a lot of memory (gaming generally doesn't) go for 32gb. If you're getting a 13600K 32gb might be worth it too.

Graphics card

If you're just using it for gaming, both AMD and Nvidia will do fine, but AMD is generally better value. Another option is going Intel, but they're having a lot of driver issues because they only recently started making GPU's, and AMD is still better value usually.

If you're doing anything like 3D modeling or video editing, do not go for AMD. Another thing Nvidia is better at is ray tracing, if you use that frequently. Below are some of my recommendations, with performance equivalents of the others.

For 1080p gaming, all of them should be fine. For 1440p, go at least 3060 Ti, and for 4K at least RTX 3080.

RX 6600 / RTX 3060 / Arc A750

RX 6650 XT

RX 6700 XT / RTX 3060 Ti

RX 6900 XT / RTX 3080 Ti

RX 7900 XT(X) / RTX 4080

PSU

Get the cheapest tier A (will add tier list in a minute) with the wattage shown above.

Case

Get one you like the look of, but make sure there's a good amount of ventilation, such as a mesh front panel.

Storage

Really depends on a lot of things, but generally a Crucial P3 or WD SN570 is a solid choice. Make sure it has enough storage for your needs.

Cooler

For a 12400 or 5600, any tower cooler will be good enough. If you're going for the 13600K, look into something better, such as an AK620, or maybe even an AIO like the Liquid Freezer II.

So in general speaking when building a gaming PC, what stats should I focus on and what is considered a fairly good stats for a budget gaming PC?

for a budget gaming pc, I think a well balanced spec between the cpu and the gpu is important.

for example, if you go too high on the gpu but your cpu is on the lower end. you would have a huge bottleneck and you gpu wont perform to its full potencial

and vice versa.

I see, I'll have a mix and match. Thanks for the info.

What's up, so I had done some research and mix and match here and there and came up with this budget build.

Questions:

1) In perspective of performance and look do you think it will be good?

2) Is there places where I can decrease the cost or places where I should spend a little more to get better performance?

this is a good start.

the cpu and gpu pairs nicely.

the i5-12400F is perfectly fine for this build, but going for the i5-12600 might be a nicer choice.

for your MB, if you are sure you are not going to add more ram in the future, then it is fine.

but if you are planning on adding more rams in the future. consider a MB with 4 slots.

if you're on  tight budget, a 250GB sata SSD + 1TB HDD

OR

a 1TB sata SSD might be a little cheaper depending on where you live.

1TB NVMe SSD is not really necessarily, but its nice to have.

your PSU on the other hand, is not a very good PSU.

NEVER cheap out on a PSU, because if your PSU in not reliable, your whole pc can die.

also I would go for at least 700w psu just to be safe. but for this build a 650w is recommended.

personally I really like the seasonic psu.

but still, check out the PSU tier list:
