Need some input on my new build

CallumOKane

I have recently decided that I want to upgrade my existing build for some new, fresh components

Current Build (Not the one I plan to work on, look at screenshot below!) - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/callumokane/builds/#view=wDj2FT

In the screenshot below, you can see what I plan on going for - there is the possibility I might go Ryzen 7 7700X, but I have not fully decided yet.

I would love to hear some final feedback before I begin purchasing components, the case and everything else. Any remaining parts such as case fans, storage and peripherals will be taken from my current build.

I am not 100% certain on what motherboard or memory I should get, and the ones in the above screenshot where selected based off online reviews I have seen.

**UPDATE** The case and cooler have both been purchased, and the decision on those are now final. 5000D Airflow and iCUE H150I Elite Capellix.

I am still unsure what motherboard and RAM to get, and still thinking about getting the 7 7700X instead.

Try to get EXPO labelled RAM, tho you should have no issue with only 5200 on  2 sticks

System : AMD R9 5900X / Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO/ 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600CL18 ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Eisbaer 280mm AIO (with 2xArctic P14 fans) / 2TB Crucial T500  NVme + 2TB WD SN850 NVme + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD drives/ Corsair RM850x PSU/  Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / Logitech G915TKL keyboard (wireless) / Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

I think that the RAM is pretty solid, at least in my build. If you have the budget I would go higher on the GPU and SSD. The stock cooler in the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x will probably be sufficient.

Here are some recommended parts for your build.

 Amd rx 6600

And samsung 980

Going to bump this now as I have started purchasing some stuff for this build, and would like to confirm what I want for the remaining parts.

Currently, I have gotten the case and cooler (5000D Airflow and iCUE H150I Elite Capellix), as seen in the image in OP.

The remaining components I need to purchase now is the CPU, Motherboard, RAM and Power Supply, and any remaining parts will be taken from my current build such as storage and GPU.

I am still unsure if I want the Ryzen 5 7600X or the Ryzen 7 7700X, maybe someone could give some insight on that?

On top of that, I am unsure what motherboard or memory to get, obviously, I will need something that support AM5 - If anyone has any ideas, that would be appreciated!

And finally, the PSU. I currently have a 650W Corsair PSU, and might not need to upgrade just now (Maybe someone can confirm this) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08HN2BWM7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Why don't you consider the Intel 13600K?

I will never consider Intel, personal preference. The new build will be Ryzen, just like my current build.

Just purchased the Ryzen 7 7700X, so the remaining components is now the motherboard and memory, if anyone could suggest something that would be great - nothing over that cost more than 300 each if possible 😛

Right now for the motherboard, I am currently deciding between the following:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-B650-PLUS-RyzenTM-motherboard-Ethernet/dp/B0BHHY3M7L/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=am5+motherboard&qid=1671331768&sprefix=AM5%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-X670-GAMING-AX-Motherboard/dp/B0BGPV33YS/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=am5+motherboard&qid=1671331768&sprefix=AM5%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-3

If anyone could give some input, that would be appreciated, or if anyone has something better in mind for around the same price as the above two, please let me know!

On top of that, still unsure what memory to get

Thanks for this, will look at both and see if I can get good pricing and shipping to Ireland 🙂

I've just purchased the motherboard from Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BGPV33YS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

All that is left is the memory, and hopefully the PSU from my current build (650W) should be enough for the CPU (Ryzen 7 7700X) and GPU (GTX 1060)

I can't find the G.Skill Trident Z5 32GB 5600Mhz anywhere available that ships to Ireland that is not heavily overpriced or high shipping costs - so if there is any other memory I could look at getting, would love to hear some ideas!
