ARGB header

This is more complicated than I thought.

I bought a pack of 3 fans.

• Cooler Master Sickleflow 120 ARGB 3-1 pack

 

Now, I can only manage their color if I connect a female of one of the 3 fans into the ADD_GEN 2 header on the motherboard (which seems to be the right one for ARGB - 5v).

 

While I can connect their lights, they do not power up... I mean, isn't supposed that if they are connected to the ADD_GEN 2 header, they have power to '' spin '' ? 

- So it seems that the solution is, make the connection above mentioned and use a PWM 3 to 1 splitter to connect it to a CHA_FAN2 header on the motherboard in order for them to work.

- Is this the right method?

Yes, that is the right method.

 

4pin PWM / 3pin cable to Fan Header on motherboard / hub
RGB/ARGB cable to RGB/ARGB header on motherboard / hub
The wiring for each (RGB/ARGB and Fan Motor) are separate inside the fan.

RGB and ARGB headers are solely to light up the leds.
Fan headers are solely to power and/or control the fan's motor.
