After a few months of planning, I believe I've come up with the parts to my upcoming gaming computer, along with monitor.

The question is, did I do it right?

Specifically, I'm buying a Phantom 410, which I have been informed has 3 built in fans. I'll be removing the top one for the fitting on the H100i's radiator with 2 Corsair fans. I assume the airflow will be adequate without the need for more fans?

PLEASE NOTE: I am aware I didn't add a PSU or a GPU to the list, as I already own both. A Corsair CS750M PSU and a Gigabyte GTX 780ti Windforce Edition GPU.

Because of the GPU's incredibly large size, I'll be removing the modular drive bay for the sake of fitting, which will also take away the ability to mount a fan on said bay. Will this effect airflow to a critical level or will I be fine with the liquid cooler and stock fans as it is? I cannot spend more than the amount I have already invested, this is literally all the money I have.

I am conflicted between air cooling and liquid cooling. I know that the H100i is capeable of the best temperatures about, but is very fragile and there are risks of leaking. I do not want to waste all of my money, which brings me onto the point that air cooling is arguably cheaper and can do a similar job. What do you guys suggest, liquid, or air, and why? And if air, what is the best to buy? Maybe the Cooler Master V8 GTS?

Without further ado, here's the list:

If there is anything I can do to improve, or you have any suggestions, please, feel free to suggest. I am totally open to all constructive opinions. This is only planning, obviously.

I'll be using this computer mainly for gaming and music production in late September, possibly the odd video render here, maybe not at all.

All in all, if I were to buy the listed parts above, and combine them with my already-owned PSU and GPU, will I be on my way to a fantastic experience, or am I about to dive into a pit of wasted money and efforts?

Anyway, thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

really cant complain about the build. its good . well balanced. i thinmk you can get better stuff for the money but these are nice components BUT
i think you can get a nicer monitor. its kind of "bad" u can get a nice IPS screen for a little bit more. also if u do have a higher budget a 1440p ips display might be worth it too considering you do have the horsepower to drive it for gaming

Removing the hard drive bay will actually increase the airflow from the front intake fans. The H100i isn't really fragile, and there is very little chance of it leaking unless you do something really stupid when installing it. Air is much cheaper, but not as good performance. If you're short on money and just want a decent cooler, go for a Hyper 212 EVO.

For gaming, there's no point in the 4770K, you may as well get a 4670K. You could do with 8GB of RAM, but 16GB will be usefull in the future.

I'd go for an IPS monitor. Something like the Acer H236HL bmid. I'd also replace the stock fans on the H100i if you do get one, they're loud as hell.

you shouldn't be using corsairs AF series on a HD radiator like the H100i's. Go for their SP series instead, if you want to use them on the radiator. And don't use the stock H100i fans, they are very loud.

Thank you, I've replaced the AF series with SP's instead.

Maybe he shouldn't name it final check, but it's better he asks 5 times than if he goes out and buys something wrong. We're all here to help eachother, after all.

I do agree, every time I put "final check" I was convinced I had finally crossed the finish line, but then there would be something else to learn, something else I could improve on... so yes, I'll avoid using "final check" from now on :P

Sure, but he can always just make another post in the same topic. Why make 5? Plus at what point does it become trolling when you're just posting almost the exact same thing multiple times a day?

Just keep it to one thread in the future instead of making multiple threads for one build.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

Of course. But thanks to the amount of help I've received from these posts, I doubt you'll see me on here for a VERY long time, so thank you for every bit of advice. I'll keep in mind how to modulate my posts in a more adequate manner in the future.

Have a nice life you lot :)
