First time pc builder

Budget (including currency): $2600 Canadian

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming

Other details:

Hello

I'm looking into building my own gaming PC for the first time

Up until now, I've only purchased laptops with the recommended specs to play the games that I enjoy.

But now I would like to invest in a decent gaming laptop that will be able to play games like the Witcher , Nier , and other future games that might interest me.

I created a parts list on pcpartpicker and I'd like your opinions please.

I worry particularly about the motherboard...whether I chose I decent one

Also, I'll be purchasing a new screen and keyboard later on ..I have to budget myself lol

For now I'll use what I have . But I am aiming to purchase a screen that has min 1440p reso

I look forward to all your help 😃

Thank you !

Not a bad first go! well done

IMO: 360 AIO is a bit overkill, I would lean towards at 240 AIO. a 360 is certainly fine and up to your choice. the Arctic 240 is an excellent AIO.

A 1000 watt psu is also unnecessary, 850watts will cover anything you throw at it, even a 4090 and 13900k

I switched you to a Z690 motherboard to take advantage of the overclocking ability of the 12700k

Check this over and relay your thoughts: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Z2dqJM

Edit:

Also removed Windows 10 home from your list. IMO Windows 10 pro is the better route. Personally I use a software key site called https://www.kinguin.net/ to purchase a software key for windows 10 pro, Just did this last week when I upgraded, CPU, Motherboard, Memory and SSD and it cost me around $30 US. If you're more comfortable buying a retail key... that's fine too.

Thank you so much for the mobo recommendation !  I'll keep it as an option since you say it is advantageous for the 12700k

I had selected a 1000w power supply to give me room for more upgrades in the future (I also wanted to be safe . As in if would it be enough to power my PC but base on what you said it would be 😅 )  I'll consider your advice on that !

As for the AIO , is there one with RGB, I'm a sucker for the effects lol

Thank you again for answering!
