Hi,

so I noticed, my Laptop (2020 Zephyrus G14) sometimes skips the lock-screen after a startup.

That scares me a bit.

I don't know if I started to see this kind of behavior when changing to Windows 11 or if it was present with Windows 10.

My Desktop doesn't have that problem.

I am on 22H2.

I would really like to avoid spending the time to reinstall Windows.

You do have a password set, right?

Else, do you have facial rec or fingerprint unlock enabled?

Yes of course.
I set a PIN like on all my devices.
I also have a fingerprint scanner on the power button that doesn't really work most of the time.
It sometimes directly goes to Windows desktop without me even seeing the lockscreen.
I normally also don't touch the laptop while startup. Just press the power button and let it sit until I am in lockscreen.

I also can't imagine it remembers my fingerprint from starting the PC.

That's actually what they do on some modern devices.

Yep, it's called caching. It will store your bio-metrics long enough to log you in, thus saving you a whole button press.

If you want to test it for yourself, try pushing the power button with something other than your finger, like a pencil eraser or something. If it still logs you in, THEN you have a problem.

Didn't know it could be able to do that. Particularly because the sensor, most of the time, doesn't work anyways.

I will try it with my finger joint or a pen the next few days and will tell you what happened.

Thanks in the meantime
