Is my gpu defective?

So i recieved my new 3060ti in the mail today and everything looked fine however my pc doesnt run properly and also doesnt even show my gpu in the task manager. I still have a display and can open games however they run extremely slowly and im not sure what to do.

Do you have drivers for it installed? You can find their drivers here. Just make sure to select your GPU from the list.

 

Edit: You could also check device manager under display adapters to see if it recognizes it, as is the case for my GPU here.

Your PC is probably in safe mode of some sort, Safe mode loads the default VGA-driver.

 

What card did you use before this your current one? And did you delete the old driver with DDU?

i installed the drivers a couple of times and nothing changed once

i didnt delete the old driver but i had a 1660ti

You could uninstall the driver from device manager and restart your computer for Windows to install it automatically install some

Right, but by uninstalling the current drivers, you could rule out that the drivers weren't the problem

Unistalling via device manager doesn't delete all the files. Uninstalling with DDU does not leave such files
