Right, so i ordered an NZXT 100cm LED Light kit, it has a molex connector on it with a red and a black wire.

When i came to plugging it in, I realised that my PSU only had molex 3 pin plugs, and the red wire on the Lights connector was in the 'bay' that the cable was missing from, ie, a 4 pin connector with 3 wires in...

What do you suggest i do, and can it harm my PSU if i switch the wires around in the lights molex connector? Then which wires would I match up? Ill take a picture so it's easier.

See. the black goes to brown and the red goes to nothing... surely the red is + and black is -?

the red is 5V. the 12V,which the LEDs need is yellow,so its all good why do you want to mix up the cables? the red is missing because its not needed

or did i misunderstood?

the black molex is from the leds ?

if so leds need 5V,which your psu molex doesn`t have . don`t put the yellow in the red slot, its 12V.

The wires in the black molex (LED) go:             In the clear one, (PSU)

---------                                                              Yellow

---------                                                              Black

Black                                                                 Brown

Red                                                                  ---------

These were joined and nothing was happening. So I changed it to this

Red                                                                 Yellow

Black                                                               Black

--------                                                             Brown

--------                                                             --------

And now it seems to work, albeit dimmer than they are in YouTube videos.
