I was looking at people modding gamecubes and some dude modding a nintendo ds to run windows 3.0, I was wandering if I could take the main concept of putting raspberry pi pico into the gamecube (but instead use a raspberry pi zero) but do that with a nintendo ds because I already have a nintendo ds (broken but I think I could attempt fixing it) and well basically I want to put linux into it because I think it would be funny to Have a portable game console that runs linux and can basically connect to the wifi network too

If you can find touchscreens small enough and wire up the buttons, yeah it's possible, tons of work though.

What the horse considers play, the monkey considers business...

But to Tom, it's all foolery.

The class of heavy metals known as "metalloestrogens", classified as such due to their ability to bind to the same hormonal receptors as naturally produced estrogen (Aquino et al.), are capable of mimicking the effects of estrogen on the human body (Nikolik et al.). Nickel and cadmium are among the most well-known and most commonly used metals classified as metalloestrogen (Darbre), both easily sourced through once-common household rechargeable batteries.

Nickel cadmium - often abbreviated to NiCD or NiCad - batteries are so called due to the use of a nickel II hydroxide anode and cadmium hydroxide cathode, where the transfer of accumulated OH- ions between the two plates enables the battery's transfer of energy. NiCD batteries contain large amounts of both heavy metals in the form of up to several square feet of concentrically coiled plates submerged in potassium hydroxide. Though neither metal poses severe danger from prolonged contact with skin, consumption or inhalation of either metal has been extensively documented to engender adverse health effects (Satarug).

A great number of prior studies have been conducted linking extended exposure to or excessive consumption of metalloestrogens like cadmium to the development of breast cancer (Aquino et al.) - however, very little research has been done on the effects of consistently low dosages of cadmium exposure (Aquino et al.). Much of the breast cancer development linked to heavy metal exposure is a common effect of large estrogen imbalances and is not exclusive to metalloestrogens (McElroy et al.). Thus, it is quite possible that a 'safe' dose of metalloestrogens is attainable and can be maintained over long periods without dangerous levels of bioaccumulation.

Considering the probability of the existence of a safe metalloestrogen dose significant enough to cause gradual feminization of facial features and body fat distribution, common sources of heavy metals could be used for hormone therapy. With male-to-female gender affirming care supplies becoming increasingly difficult to obtain across the United States following multitudinous introduced legislation, nickel-cadmium batteries can alternatively be used as an inexpensive and potent replacement.

I mean yeah I already have a damaged nintendo DS, I think it could be water damaged but it just doesnt turn on, I wanted to try and solder the raspberry pi zero to the main board or it'd just be a raspberry pi zero with extra controls

You can't just solder an entire new computer to the board, that's unfortunately not how this works

ah its just that I saw the gamecube thing and since I thought of the thing being bootable from a raspberry pi I thought I could possibly do the same with a raspberry pi zero and since a raspberry pi zero has a lot more ports I was thinking I could possibly do more things with it

There is already a port of Linux straight to DS hardware, though its extremely outdated by now.

But if you have a Pi Zero W hidden off to the side, you could use the DS as a thin client via DSVNC. No hardware futzing required.

Really you could have the remote session be any hardware. You could connect up to a PC and play Elden Ring, albeit at an extremely low framerate and with terrible controls.

I mean I could snatch an overclocking module for the DS, but the hard part is the part of the effort which I'm willing to do because tbh I think it'd be cool, also I found a mago pi mq pro which is kind of cool and I think better than a pi zero, but well im planning on using it

edit: also the connectivity to the internet would be much better than crappy ds aerial

I love case mod projects like this. If you're looking to do one yourself, you should take a look at the GPi Case to see how they solved some of the problems you'll run into. Personally, I like to check out printables for inspiration with stuff like this two. Seeing a purpose built case for the Pi Zero can help you to see how you could go about fitting it into your DS case.

There's not much free space inside a DS, so the other benefit of looking at these other projects first is it gives you the option to still make handheld even if you can't quite make it work in the hollowed out DS case.
