A little over a week ago I made a mistake that proved to be disastrous, or at least I think it was this mistake that caused all these issues, at this point I am not sure. About a week ago, bored, I decided to play Minecraft 1.0, I had little intentions for an outcome of this, just see what it looked like and what all had changed. After booting up the game I proceeded to make a new world and run around a little bit. It was exactly how I had expected, normal Minecraft just a bit blander. After this I decided to go ahead and try out Minecraft 1.7.10 and see what it was like. I created a new version and clicked play, what the screen loaded into could only be described as confusing, the game window had a white to black gradient and little white boxes where text should be.

While this screenshot is of 1.8.9 this is what 1.7.10 looked like. I was confused but I figured it was because I had a 1.8.9 texture pack on and that it was causing issues with 1.7.10. I then closed the window and went to boot into Minecraft 1.8.9 so I could take that off, however I was in for a nasty surprise. When I booted up 1.8.9, I was greeted with the same screen as 1.7.10, panicked I went to take off my 1.8.9 texture pack just from muscle memory. However, removing the pack did not change anything (and yes, I did close and reopen the game a few times). I told myself not to panic so I walked through the steps, I restarted my pc, then I deleted .minecraft, then I deleted and reinstalled all of minecraft, then I deleted and reinstalled java, I tried using other java runtimes, I tried giving it some time to rest. Oh, I forgot to mention, I was having issues with 1.19.2 as well, while it would boot up just fine my fans would go crazy for the first 30 seconds of the window being open. I should also mention that Forge 1.8.9 and Lunar 1.8.9 were also working just fine. Frankly I did not play Minecraft all that much and I said oh well I can sweep this under the rug and just play lunar. But then issues started popping up all around my computer. I noticed things like Discord and Firefox would be using 97% of my gpu when active, then I tried to play a game of Valorant but my fans went soooo crazy and my gpu was running at a sustained 80 degrees, so I decided to leave mid game and take the afk penalty rather than risk my hardware. After screwing around and trying to find the issue I decided it was time to just reinstall Windows. At this point I was not sure what it was going to achieve but surely just clearing out all those dumb files and whatever that were probably screwing smth up seemed needed. I decided to do keep files but remove apps and settings, this however, proved to be fruitless besides just annoying me a lot as I had to redownload everything. Last night I decided it was time to COMPLETLEY reinstall Windows, I regretfully clicked that button knowing that files were going to be lost (I backed up photos and such, but a lot of my code was too large to back up in a meaningful amount of time). However, once I booted back into windows after that wipe, I found that THE SAME ISSUES that were happening b4 were still present. Also, I was having issues with WAMP Server and some DLL files (the C++ ones, I followed articles online, but it fixed nothing). I noticed that my D: drive was not wiped in the reinstall, so I wiped that and then tried again. Well folks, nothing happened, I was talking with a friend and we both agreed that I was lost, buying a new computer was beinging to seem like the only fix (though I seemed to be cursed as I thought wiping everything did that).

My thoughts that are the issue:
 - I am no expert but maybe some driver of some kind is left behind when i reset or smth and that is the issue

 - Windows is not acutally reseting everything, just taking the lazy apporach (how do I force it too not?)

 - The PC gods are conspiring against me.

PC:

Lenovo Prebuilt:

Ryzen 7-3700X

GTX 1660 Super

16gb 3200 ram

512 GB WD ssd

(I added this one) 1 TB WD SSD

450W Lenovo PSU

Any help would be greatly appreciated, ask if you have any questions or clarifications, I just want my desktop back, this has been a horrible experince.

Take it to a proper computer repair shop and let them sort it out.

Likely Windows didn't do a real, bare-metal fresh install.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.
