Cpu 8+4 pin connection on motherboard.

Yes, the CPU 8 pins come as a 4+4 for this reason as not all motherboards are 8 pin, some low end boards are 4 pin. So if you have an extra one you can definitely just use a 4 pin from the 4+4 to plug into it.

So, I recently just got my new psu and normally when it comes to plugging in the 8+4 pin for the cpu in on the motherboard, I normally just do the 8pin because my psu didn’t allow for the 4 pin as well. I just wanted to know if I can plug half of one of the 8pins into the 4 pin slot on the motherboard?
