Quick Ram question...

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

Ryzen officially supports 3200MT/s, as in you can't RMA it if it can't go above 3200MT/s, though finding a Ryzen 5000 series CPU that can't do 3800MT/s in 1:1 mode and 4800MT/s with a good motherboard in desynced mode is pretty hard.

Whether or not it's worth it though is a different story, on the 5800X it's a pretty small performance difference between 3200 and 3600, so not really worth the extra cost a lot of the time. I'd just go for the cheaper of the two, mostly because the main reason to go Ryzen 5000 right now is a value proposition, so high speed memory makes very little sense for that platform (same with buying high end boards like the Crosshair though, at that point you could get a 13600K and a Z690-A Pro with much better performance for about the same price).

Budget (including currency): N/A

Country: N/A

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 4K Gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Rebuilding my rig as multiple components went belly up. Just wanted to ask if going with 3600mhz or higher ram is even worth it as ryzen states it supports up to 3200mhz on the Gen 3  5800x I bought. Pairing it with a crosshair viii dark hero and a 3090 ti.
