So I'm going a little cheapskatey I got a second-hand case which has some of the dust filters missing.

I have found this filter mesh thing on aliexpress it's 25 microns so seams like it would filter out most of the dust but I don't know if its gonna restrict airflow.

I mean I think its worth a try since its cheap and could work great! (72.48 NOK ≈ 7.24 usd)

What model this case is will matter a lot.  It could be a mammoth for example in which case it’s a totally different thing.  You could also just be talking about a generic case filter which is more of a fine grillwork that a filter.

To put this into perspective a HEPA filter or a 95% COVID mask is 1 micron.  So 25 microns i don’t remember if a millimeter is 100 microns or 1000.  Iirc a millimeter is a thousandth of a meter and a micron is a millionth of a meter.  A million is a thousand thousand, so under that definition it’s would be a thousandth of a millimeter.  Even if it’s 100 though It is still really really small.  The tighter the filter the more air resistance it produces.  The cheapass solution for replacing fan filters is pantyhose. I decided to go hardcore and use aquarium filter (on the grounds that it was black because it was covered in activated charcoal) that stuff was almost too much resistance though.  Mammoths use HEPA I think though, but there is a reason it is named “Mammoth”. It’s an industrial special application hose down case.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Of course, but how much is too much is the question.

Potentially not much.  Part of the problem is computer fans just have really lousy static pressure.  Even the high static pressure ones.  Vacuum cleaners actually use impellers normally.  Discard the traditional blade altogether.  It’s often what is needed for small particulate filtration.  If it wasn’t also extremely loud it would probably be done more often.
