Why would he get a ATX case for a M-ATX motherboard? It could work, but I wouldn't do it. And I wouldn't even keep the case for future upgrades

I'd say get a Mini.

not really. Cable management is difficult but not impossible. you can do a good job in it, even with a non modular power supply.

There are other good options out there, the Arc Mini R2 is not the only good case on the market.
