Already done it, still no post. In the matter of fact, my friend just left with rtx 2060 from gigabyte. His card worked great, 10 startups out 10. I'm already back on my gtx 780 and everything works. It's fucking weird, cuz when 1660 super works it works. It's the matter booting to anything. Which happens only 1 out 4-5 times? I guess i need to return the card.

Yeah if a 2060 works, then the 1660 should work fine. Probably a bad card. Should test it in another machine to confirm.

Hi.

I bought new gpu for my son's pc. The msi gtx 1660 super ventus. Fresh windows, newest drivers annnddd brand new psu 600W bronze.

After the switch, it sometimes boots to windows or black "screens" I have literally done everything i could. Used multiple differente hdmi/power kables, ports. Sockets on the psu. I mean, everything.

Dial'd back to previous gpu, works good. Went trough a gaunlet of gpu stress tests - the card is new and good. The psu works just fine with the old card. I'm fucking clueless. It either boots to windows or just loops on black screen.

The pc "sounds" good the only incdicator is the mouse just flashing on and off, regularly when it happens. Is it possible that is just not compatible with the old platform? Xeon 1270v2 - 16GB DDR - MSI G43 mobo. It's almost identical to my system.

Help me please. I can record the anomaly if anyone is interested.

Regards.

What is the previous gpu you had in the system?

Edit: did some looking around on google and there is an article that recommends using uefi bios over legacy bios for the graphics card.

GTX 780 3GB. Bios update is a last resort, the problem it won't even boot into bios. Just a black screen and a flashing mouse on and off.

Couldn’t you put the old graphics card in the pc just long enough to change bios settings?
