Upgrade Path Help!!!!????

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Davinci resolve 18, Autodesk, Autodesk CFD, Python and C#, Microsoft flight sim

Other details:

Motherboard: Asrock B450 pro 4

Cpu: Ryzen 5 2600

Gpu Gtx 1660ti

16 gb ram

 

I was thinking about getting a Ryzen 5 800x but im not quite sure if thats a good idea. Maybe a gpu upgrade would be better?

Im currently not happy with the performance im getting.

Im open for any suggestion.

How does the CPU and GPU usage look like when you play your games/do your stuff?

 

Are games more underperforming or the creative software?

 

If you don't have 2 monitors, it's easy to test by letting Task Manager run while you game, and after about a minute of playing you alt tab and see/screenshot the CPU and GPU graph

Apperantly im limtied by mainthread. I looked on the internet and ppl say it is the cpu that might cause this.

and it looks like only one core of my cpu is being used 100%
