Nooby Network question

Go to solution Solved by Bonsai99,

Anyway the question i want to ask you guys is: will i need anything else to go with this router to fully replace the one that i have or can i plug this straight into the phone line and be on my merry way ?

You will have to plug it into your old router/modem combo. It can't plug directly into the phone line since it isn't a modem, it is just a router.

Hey guys i have been getting rather fed up with my wireless connectivity and speed in my house and i have a feeling it might be because of the older now outdated router that my ISP has supplied me being a Thompson TG782T. I have taken an interest in the: ASUS RT-AC56U Dual Band Wireless AC1200 Gigabit Router as it looks neat and has the options that i want to try out (file sharing and printer sharing) with the ability of converting to ac further down the line. Anyway the question i want to ask you guys is: will i need anything else to go with this router to fully replace the one that i have or can i plug this straight into the phone line and be on my merry way ?

If you want to keep the network as simple as possiable, I would suggest you look through the asus options, as you said they look really neat. Some of there latest options also have a built in modems to make things simple. :)
