Upgrading first in a Long Time

Canichi

Budget (including currency): max of 7000€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Futureproof RTX-Gaming for the next Years to come (OC-Capeble)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Im building a new rig, as mine is now 6 Years old and Overclocked to its Limit and im not Happy with it. So as 13th Gen and the 4000 Series out now Id figured, now is the Time.

My Current Part-List is this:

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/LfKPcb

(The exact 4090 Model is not Set in Stone as it depends on Supply)

Did I have any Major oversites?

(Storage I already got some m.2 pcie Drives)

Do you have some Suggestions?

I know for current gen Games its quite overkill but I want it to last for the next Years to come.

When your already going balls to the walls with the build I would go for some faster RAM. Maybe something like the G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36

From what I have seen RAM speed is a factor on 13th gen, at least with a 4090

What's the reasoning behind a 1600w PSU?

Please don't use the word future proof.  Spending a shitload today so you can last an extra year isn't future proofing.

With that budget there are some things you might consider before buying.

On january 2023 AMD is likely to unveal their 'X3D' version of the new 7000 series, that might be interesting and Intel probably won't have an answer to that as they didn't have for previous 5800X3D.

Another thing, AM5 is more future-proof as this socket will be used for next years, on the other hand, Intel 13th gen is the last on 1700 socket.

7950X is more power efficient (expensive). 13900K performs slightly better. (cheaper).

About DDR5 Ram, with your budget, you can easily get the best kit 32GB 6000Mhz CL 36 (32 GB DDR5 6000 CL36 GSkill Trident Z5 Kit)

And just to add more to this one, forget not about RDNA3...

There's a lot wrong with this. Those fans are garbage in 2022.

You want Phanteks T30s or Noctua A12x25s

Also, I would personally recommend a 7950x over a 13900k for this kind of price point

That ram you chose blows

That PSU you chose is silly

Thanks a lot for the Input.

The RAM I missed and yeah, I'll sure change that to the Trident Z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30.

The PSU was a placehodler, since I made the first sketch of that upgrade before the RTX-4000 TDP was final and was based on old TDP-Leaks and I simply forgot to update it. Tbf 1600 was too much even back then ... dont know what my thoughts where back then.

Also Thanks a lot for the Advise on Case Fans, thats a Field im not up-to-date at all and didn't done my Research right.

I did consider the AM5 for the upgrade and to wait until the X3D Variant and depending on the Time it takes to get a GPU i'll wait. Also the more I think about it, the better the call seems, as then I can swap the CPU without the Mainboard once the upgrade is worth in a few Years.

I'll defenetly wait for RDNA 3 next week to see what they bring to the Table, for sure, and then I try toi get my Hands on a GPU, hopefully.
