Does it matter what we select in those first two options? It's possible to select the monitor's ICC profile there.

In fact, Asus tells you to change the device profile to the ICC profile they provide: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1018735/

I've done that but it doesn't seem make any difference.

There's very little information about this on the internet, usually people just apply the color profile in the Devices tab and that's it.
