I've been using a  rtx 2070 since mid 2019. Now planning to upgrade it.

I was excited for the 4000 series, but the future looks bleak...

The point is: I've been looking at some 3080 at Newegg. And I'm very confused (I'm dumb at tech). Not only there're so many different brands. But there're like three models 3080 10gb, 3080 12gb, 3080 ti. I cant choose.

I was gonna go for oogaaa oogaaa monke brain and go for the biggest number but then realized the specs don't really increase much from the 10gb but the TDP jumps like crazy (from 320 to like 390 and 400).

I do like my rig to be a bit power efficient.

What should I go for? The 10gb? 12gb? the Ti? or maybe wait for the 4080?

Thanks!

If you don't like the higher TDP, set your own power limit in MSI Afterburner. You could set all those cards to run at 250W if you wanted to (though wouldn't exactly recommend that).

The 12G model is usually only $10-20 more than the 10G model and a bit faster at stock, plus those extra 2GB of VRAM should help keep it relevant for a little bit longer, and since the 3080 Ti is significantly more expensive usually and not that much faster than the 12G model, I'd just go for the 12G card and call it a day.
