So I 3060 ti is better than a 6700xt?

''  Is the 6700 XT better than 3060 TI?

The RX 6700 XT has 50% more GDDR6 memory capacity but has a narrower memory bandwidth thanks to its 192-bit memory bus vs the 3060 Ti's 256-bit bus. ''

The 3060 Ti also performs better at ray tracing and rendering tasks and has the ability to use DLSS in games that support it
The 3060 Ti also performs 30w lower.

Now, RX 6700 XT has an average of 5 fps better than the 3060 Ti. But as the resolution gets higher, the difference goes to 0. (at 4k, the 3060 Ti performs slightly better)
RX 6700 XT has 4GB more GDDR memory capacity.

Both cards should serve you well in 1080p / 1440p resolutions.
For minecraft, Nvidia takes an advantage, and for your game development activities, Nvidia takes the upper hand.
Now everything comes down to price. If they are equal, 3060 Ti has a better value even if you want to sell it in the future.

I'm debating between the MSI 3060 12gb and the XFX 6700 XT 12gb to pair with a 5 5600. I’m looking to run Minecraft with intense shaders, schoolwork, and a little bit of game development. Which would be the best option?

Thanks!

For those specific stuff on your budget I would get a 3060 Ti and call it a day!

For your uses the 6700xt is better, and is usually cheaper as a bonus

So do you think it would be worth it to purchase the 3060 Ti over the 3060? Even though the 3060 Ti has less Vram, also because of the price. Which has more value to me do you think? Thanks for the super in depth reply by the way!

Forget about the 3060 😄

If the match was between 3060 vs 6700 XT, I would say 6700 XT all the way.

But when you introduce 3060 Ti, which for me is the same price as a 6700 XT, it's almost a tie in performance..

You have to think what you'll be doing..

If you care about Ray Tracing games and DLSS mode, than 3060 Ti is the way to go, as this one is also better and rendering and editing stuff. Nvidia graphics are at the moment, the ones that content creators/edit ppl use.

But as I told you before, 6700 XT is slightly better performance (FPS) 5 on average + than 3060 Ti.

Watch some comparisons on youtube as see the atual performance of some games you might play and decide it.

Either way you go, you will be served pretty well.
