So I'm switching from an am3+ amd cpu to an intel 1150 cpu. My SSD has windows on it already installed. I want to know what I need to do in order to keep windows and transfer drivers smoothly. I doubt I need to format my drive but I'm not sure how to bridge the gap between switches without having something not work...

I could use any help/advice. Thanks.

Install drivers for your new motherboard.

You may have to reinstall Windows.

Don't need to reinstall windows, as i myself went from AM3+ to LGA 1155. You will only have to install your motherboard drivers and your graphics card drivers, and any other expansion card drivers you may have. It's really easy :D

It can depend on the motherboard, not simply the platform or cpu.

Id simply download drivers for everything you have and put it on a flash drive along with your new motherboard drivers, easiest way :D

So just boot up on intel...uninstall amd stuff. Then install from flash drive. Sounds easy enough.

No no no, before taking out your AMD board, download your Intel board drivers, graphics drivers, and other drivers you need onto a flash drive. Install your new motherboard and cpu, fire it up, plug in the flash drive, install new drivers.
