Hey all wanna get a couple of opinions on my next pc build

Mother Board: Z170A SLI Plus

Ram: 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x 8GB Corsair LPX (32GB Total)

GPU: Nividia GeForce GTX 1070

My Current Monitor is a 2560x1440 with a refresh rate of 143.856Hz. No new peripherals need.

Current Next Build looks like this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fGt4jZ

Not too sure what CPU cooler or fans to get. I'm thinking of stealing the CPU cooler and PSU from my current PC for the new build but if it fits the budge Ill get new ones.
Looking for opinions on where I can improve and maybe save a buck. Current changes to the new build i'm thinking of is a cheaper motherboard and a higher GPU like the RTX 3070ti.

How old is your current aio? They don’t last forever so it may be better to replace it if it is a little older. Another observation is that you should be able to keep your old ram and psu for new system most likely, assuming the ram isn’t overly slow. This would give you more budget to allocate to a bit better of a graphics card to push more frames in 4k.

My PC Specs: (expand to view)

Main Gaming Machine

CPU:  Intel Core i7-14700K
CPU Cooler: Deepcool LT720
Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400

Storage 1: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB

Storage 2: Crucial P3 Plus 4 TB
Video Card: EVGA XC3 ULTRA GAMING GeForce RTX 3080 10GB

Power Supply: Corsair RM850 850W
Case: Corsair 7000D Airflow
Case Fan 140mm: Noctua A14 PWM 82.5 CFM 140 mm (x7)
Monitor Main: MSI G274QPF-QD 27.0" 2560 x 1440 170 Hz

Did completely forget to mention that I was also keeping the ram but everything is about 6 years old

Personally, I’d get a noctua nh D15 cpu cooler for my pc if I were to do it now. I have a Corsair AIO currently though. I have the same case as you have picked out, with it fully filled with noctua fans. I’m not a big fan of rgb myself and like the quiet pc better.

With cooling out of the way, in my opinion, you should just get whatever graphics card you can get with the leftover money. I have a 3070 and play mostly at 165hz 1080p for reference.

Fyi, a quick google search says the average aio lasts 3-7 years.

RTX 3060 12G is overkill. Get a 3080 10G.

Looks like a nice build.

Also, I agree with

Replacing your RAM isn't as necessary as your AIO. But even so, 6 years is really old.

EDIT: P.S. CoolerMaster MasterLiquid ML360R/ML240R are nice AIO's.

Idk if you need the wifi and bluetooth bits on the motherboard, but if not then the b550 tomahawk is still a great motherboard. Got some other components down too, so you can get that 3070Ti that you were looking for.

You can also bring the cpu and cooler down, so you can get a newer psu though too, and a different case.

Late response to comments but got around to making changes looks a little something like this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FJZvY9

I did set the budget to $1500 but I would prefer to get it closer to only $1000. Although if there are changes than keep me with in the $1500 that would be worth the couple extra dollars that's fine.
After looking around and comparing parts would it be worth while to just get the 3080 or 3070 with the current new build above.

I would ditch the 970 Evo Plus for the simple reason that your motherboard supports gen4 SSDs. I’d get a WD SN770, it’s a very good SSD for the price- often the 1tb model is on sale for $80, less than the 970 Evo Plus, and you will get higher speeds than the gen3 970 Evo Plus: while it has no DRAM cache the SN770 will reach better speeds due to the faster interface.

The 12400f is cheaper and very slightly faster and you can get a cheaper mobo that’s still very good.

If your RAM is slower than 3200mt CL16 I would sell it with your old system and get the kit in my parts list.

NH-D15 is old and a new one is releasing soon, I would get the cheaper Dark Rock Pro 4 or AK620, both of which are almost on par with the D15 for much less- or wait for the new 140mm fans and dual tower cooler to release in Q1 2023
