Just wrote a long writeup and next page after clicking submit "Could Not access network" greeeeeeeat. Anyways, deep breath!

This may not get a lot of views or like since everyone has to chime in about laptops and overclocking.. lol I'm ready so bring it on!

I know the word "mobile" and "overclocking" don't go hand in hand but I wanted to share my results with you guys that I am pretty proud of. I have a 3840QM that is installed in an Asus G46VW with a modded BIOS that can allow for a little bit of overclocking. Here are some specs.. It's actually an update since I used to sport an 11 inch W110ER but have since switched full time to a G46VW (my new favorite laptop) This CPU draws around 68 watts under full load and at idle it'll go as low as 2.5watts which is lower than most desktop CPU's can dream of. I also get around 7-8 usable hours of battery life. (Idle power draw from the wall is 6-7 watts at half brightness and wifi enabled!)

3840QM @ 4.1ghz

cTDP set to 72 watts

Temps:

Idle: 38-40c

Load: 75-80c

This is while drawing around 68 watts under full prime 95 load.

I have attached some benchmarks below.. hope somebody enjoys my post ;)

ah darn, this is what I forgot to write about after I lost my old post. I used a bios mod so I could get access to the 4 overclocking bins I have available to my 3840QM. So that along with some careful configurable TDP numbers can result in some impressive performance.
