Headset advice

Hey LinusTechTips forum,

 

another thread like this. I got a question for you - I would like some decent headphones for my PC. A few days ago I bought a soundcard (Creative SOUND BLASTER Recon3D PCIe) - its not the best, but for my gaming and music listening needs its OK :) And now, I would like to buy a gaming headset OR headphones with a mic. Now I have a Genius Cavimanus, its a virtual 7.1 connected via USB, which is useless now. 

 

Now a little info:

Budget is 100€ max. For the headphones - 3,5mm jacks are a MUST! and now the funny part -> they will be used for everything (gaming, music, movies, teamspeak, etc.), and most importantly, I dont know if I should buy stereo headphones or maybe true 5.1 surround headphones -> so I dont know if it would be better to buy a headset OR headphones with a mic. post your opinions why/why not and recommend some headphones for me :) THANKS!

Where can you shop?

I prefer only in Slovakia, cause the delivery is sometimes huge from other states. Only e-shops, but I allways choose, cause one sell for example headphones for 60€ and other the same model for 80€, so... just name a model and I will look it up :)

Ah, not really sure what you can get in Slovakia but i would see if you can look at the Philips Cityscape Uptown, Lindy Premium Hifi Headphones. They can be had from Amazon UK and there wouldn't be any import tax or anything to pay. You could also look at Thomann as they ship to Slovakia - http://www.thomann.de/gb/headphones.html

Thanks for your ideas :) the Panasonic HTF-600 arent sold in slovakia, but the citiscape uptown look pretty good, the price is a bit high (98€) but within my budget :) the Creative Aurvana Live! are sold also here for a decent 45€, but people who bought them dont give many positive reviews, I dont think they would be good for my everyday use in almost everything. And I love me a good bass in everything and these dont have that much of it (according to the reviewers). Thanks again, and if someone has more ideas, feel free to contribute ;) 

 

So far, the citiscape uptown is the winner, but if you have any more ideas, i would appreciate it :)
