a question about physx

okay so my build is 

mb: aorus b450 pro

cpu: ryzen 5 2600 (6c 12t)

ram:corsair vengance 8x2 3000 Mhz ram

graphics cards:

gt710 (used to run my second monitor)

1050ti (main card)

 

so in the nvidia settings theres an option to set a dedicated physx card is there any point or even any gain by setting the gt710 as a physx card it does nothing else or just leave it on auto?

In games that use PhysX there might be a small performance improvement, but not a ton of games actually use PhysX, with the most recent one I can think of that did being Batman: Arkham Origins, an almost 10 year old game. If you want to set the GT 710 as the PhysX card, go ahead, it won't hurt anything, but it also is very unlikely to make any difference in the games that you play.

Eh I wouldn't. I think the GT 710 would cause you to loose fps due to things like overhead and the 710 might crap out during high physics situations. You want a 750 or better to not loose FPS.  You can easily test this buy running a benchmark with it on and then off.

You can try, but I'd expect you to actually lose FPS by setting the GT710 as a physx card due to how weak it is. It's generally not useful for much other than providing a display output.

 

Do some testing in a game that uses PhsyX (not that there are many) and see for yourself.
