Microsoft Intune: Enrolling Android devices

Go to solution Solved by The L2d,

The answer is that the device HAS to be factory reset to be enrolled in anything but a BYOD profile.

Isn’t MS the best source for MS product documentation?

From what I remembered this is not generic to all android, manufacturers have to implement specific details themselves. Maybe newer androids have a standardized implementation but I haven’t checked.
Samsung is one of those manufacturers who implemented proper MDM features.

Well I was hoping that someone would have a solution where when enrollment begins onto Android phones that I wouldn't have to factory reset the phone. However when I was researching it, I couldn't find anything to the contrary. I want to be able to fully manage the devices through Intune without setting up the "work profiles" and have the device be entirely managed. So far I haven't but honestly these devices aren't incredibly important and the only thing that has to be backed up are contacts so I'm not worried about data from apps or anything like that.

Haven't found any actual answers in documentation. Hence why I'm turning here.
