Remote Access + Storage

Hey Guys,

 

I have been searching for my ideal PC setup and realized that I want something that I can assess anywhere, from any computer, with all my data on 1 device. Currently I have WOL set up on my main desktop and use parsec to have remote access. This way I can turn on my desktop (with WOL) from another city and use my laptop (with pasec) to access it. Doing so all my files are on one device and I don't need to search if something is on my laptop, desktop or phone. I was wondering if there was any other storage options like a NAS that could provide the same functionality. Ideally something less than $2000. Please let me know, as I would really appreciate any ideas.

Yes, a NAS (or just what you already have set up… a PC can be a NAS) and a VPN.

 

Set up WireGuard so you can tunnel into your network, then any SMB share will be accessible as if you were at home.
