Founder Edition vs Third Party Card

TheProPizza

I was thinking of getting a 3070 or 3070 ti, is a third party card worth the extra money or should I just save some money and get a founders edition card? I also don’t really care about overclocking it.

If you don't care about OC, and you can get a Founders Edition cheaper, get the Founders Edition. But if you care about noise, you may wanna look for AIB cards.

The founders edition cards are perfectly fine perfomance wise, you may get a bit better cooling perfomance from third parties, but at stock speeds it doesnt matter as much.

This is if you dont care about Nvidia using the FE cards to squeeze their own AIB partners out of business.

What DOES matter and is the most important thing to me.  When cooling performance is lower it generally makes more noise.  I'm very noise sensitive. It used to be I played in complete silence though with the sound off I've been a little less annoyed since I got some good head phones.

I dont have any personal experience with the FE cards, but the Asus TUF version of the 3070 was very good at both cooling and noise.  And that variant is on the cheaper side

Thanks for reply’s, noise isn’t really an issue cause my pc is quite far away and I have good headphones, I think I’ll just the the founder edition.

I have an FE. I love it, mostly because it uses one PCIE mini 12 pin cable instead of 2 or even 3x 8 pin.
