Hey been trying to figure this out for awhile and think it might be PSU related. I have a 650W PSU, 3070, and when i boot up games my usb devices will disconnect and reconnect. I've already gone into device manager and made sure none of them are set to turn off. but can't figure out why its still doing it. any help would be appreciated

GPU is updated, chipset hasnt been, not sure how to update that. but why would it only happen when a graphicly intensive game is loading?

Listing your computer specs might make it much easier for @Dukesilver27-to help you.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I mean, the GPU has it's own power regulator and the power came from the PSU PCIE cables, whereas the USB ports' power is regulated by the motherboard's chipset, and the motherboard's power is from the 24 pin cable. I know that PCIE slots also provide power, which again is controlled by the chipset.

To update chipset drivers: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b550

Alright running the installer,

sorry not super computer savvy. been wanting to replace case and fans for awhile but worried about taking it apart and putting it back together. I know enough to hold a conversation lol

Update: did it again after updating chipset drivers and restarting computer

Out of curiosity, what usb devices you're talking about? Is it just KB+M?

Also, I'd try to reset windows first and a fresh OS before buying anything, might just be windows being windows. I had the same issue, on a laptop that is, a fresh windows fixed it.
