Not getting a display

Go to solution Solved by BiotechBen,

Would try a GPU re-seat, can't hurt.

Tried different monitors, different cables. Both monitors will show the motherboard splash screen where you access the bios and then turn to a blank screen stating "input signal not found". Cmos reset didn't work. Sounds like something shit the bed right? GPU? Motherboard? The debug code that shows up is 9E but it is nothing to be concerned about from what I've googled.

Actually I was gonna try my old 5700xt to rule it out but I guess I can try simply reconnecting it. Its a 6800xt. I hope the motherboard itself isn't damaged. Its been acting weird ever since a storm knocked the power out.

don't the 5800x have IGPU? .. plug your monitor in the mainboard hdmi or DP port and check if you get in. then go and set default GPU to PCIE

oh and leave it running 10-20 minutes..

I got the display working again. I just reseated it. I guess I didn't install it right the first time? 😕

@BiotechBen

Sometimes it's just temperamental. Unplugging and plugging back in (including clearing BIOS) fixes 80 out of 100 unexplained behaviors. Great to hear it's working again!

😅 Yeah, disaster averted. Though I wish I had tried reinstalling the GPU first before nuking the bios. Now I have to get all my overclock settings back. 😔
