Are you limited to just those? The way I'd go is just buy the cheaper one so you can afford something better later.

Definately the Olympus, 2 million more pixels, better image quality

I prefer Canon because all the cameras i have are all canon

One of them is like 8 years old and still running !

Pixels aren't everything to image quality. Though in this case, the Olympus one may be a tad sharper.

Find out the sensor size, more megapixel's doesn't always mean better if the sensor isn't large enough.  Lot's of noise in the images.

I'd say go for the Canon Powershot A2200 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom. I have a Canon prosumer HD video camera + a DSLR made by them and they're quite good.

Really? For me the Canon is $10 Cheaper. I would recommend the Canon one regardless of cost anyways.
