It just happened for the first time. I don't know what could be the issue. I read that it could be corrupted files or maybe the gpu/ram. Any solutions?

Not sure if it's a factor here, but Ryzens are fussy about RAM and it's a good idea to confirm whether your RAM's SKU / part # is on the Qualified Vendor List for your board and processor (5900X is Vermeer). I had some really strange issues with my 5900X build that turned out to be unstable RAM that wasn't QVL'd.

EDIT: Found your PCPP list. Your RAM SKU is F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC, and it is not listed on the board's QVL. F4-3600C16D-16GTZN, without the C, is, however. It is a 2x8 single-rank kit. I'm also seeing some really weird timings for the recommended kits I haven't seen before. You might try trimming down to one or two DIMMs and disabling DOCP to see if the issue continues. If it's a single DIMM causing the problem, you may be able to narrow it down by trying one at a time.

what?? I believe that my ram kit is included in qvl and I don't know if that could be the problem. It hasn't done that before and I hope it won't happen again. I have the G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16-19-19-39 16GB (2x8GB)  in an x570-e gaming mobo and a 5900x. Is it known for this combo to have any problems?

This has nothing to do with your system RAM.

@qboIodpdo a quick DDU GPU driver wipe and clean install, what you're seeing is 99% of the time GPU failure to some degree, or the beginnings of it. If it continues i'd want to know if that happens with that GPU in another system or a different GPU in your system.

Here's the QVL, see for yourself...

if your RAM SKU is the same F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC shown on your PCPartPicker list, it is not there. But a kit is recommended that has no C on the end, otherwise the same. Not sure what that C means though. Ryzens and Ryzen boards are very fussy about RAM. I can't speak for sure about any combo if it's not QVL'd. Some will work okay, others may have issues. Mine took a couple weeks to start acting stupid and then proceeded to drive me nuts for about five months until i found the problem.

Any component potentially suspect should be tested in another system.

@An0maly_76I know you like to routinely bring up this whole RAM story (I think i've read it in 10-15 threads now) but in this case, I don't think you're helping here. The issue at hand is very clearly a GPU issue as its a classic failure mode with artifacts on the screen. Also I can't even tell you how many PC's ive built in the last 10-15 years and never looked at a QVL list..

Anyway, @qboIodp that's almost certainly a GPU issue but while you're at it just to say you did it, can't hurt to swap cables and inputs.

I'm just alerting people to check into a potential issue in the interest of eliminating it as a possibility. If it's not the problem, it's not the problem. But I had several people tell me that was not my problem, and it turned out to be exactly that. No offense, but I don't throw shade at anyone else's advice, and I don't expect it to be thrown at mine either.

Looks like a classic GPU problem to me.

Try DDU and reinstalling the drivers first like the other poster said. If it's software-related, that will usually fix it. You could also try booting a Linux USB and see if you get the same problem on it; if you do, it's hardware.

If your system has integrated graphics (almost any Intel CPU will, most AMD ones won't), try switching over to that (might need to enable it in BIOS) and see if the problem persists. If that fixes it, the GPU has some sort of physical problem; probably not fixable (unless it's just overheating, check temps to verify), but you can go from there, maybe start a warranty claim. If that doesn't fix it, you can look at other things besides the GPU.

If you don't have an iGPU, then if you have another GPU you can slot in or if you have a friend who has one, I'd try that. You just need something to rule out if it's the GPU or not.

So... Nothing alarming or weird happened but I just got a bsod with error code PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. I read that this could be a potential ram issue. Could this be connected the other issue?
