How to delete the ".thumbnails" folder from any android device?

So I've been recently trying to delete this folder from my phone, because it's taking too much space. Now I know what this folder is for exactly, but there's lots of thumbs there for pictures that I don't even have anymore on my phone, so I was trying to delete so it would regenerate new thumbs for just the pictures I have. Is there any way I can do that?
