To wait or not to wait ?

Such is the question...

I'm planning on buying a 6700XT. For now I can find deals for used cards for around 400€ (some under warranty, some not).

 

I'm wondering what kind of price drop to expect upon the release of the series 40 of nvidia.

 

Around 10€ ? or more like 100€ ?

 

I'm not used to buying gpus regularly, this is why I have no idea what to expect concerning the second hand prices after a new release.

For now the GPU prices are most likely going even lower, as the Ethereum is POS - not mineable by GPUs.

By how much - very hard to tell by anyone.

Yes but.. I'm not looking for heavily used GPUs, nor nvidias, that's why I'm wondering if this is going to affect much my GPU of predilection or not.

I don't think that the low-mid range stuff is going to drop a whole lot. Their replacements aren't coming until next year most likely. It's the higher end stuff that's likely to see the bigger drops initially.

 

I wouldn't expect the 6700 XT to drop all that much, at least not new cards. Used cards may drop in price a bit more, especially when the mining cards start hitting the markets.
