Hey all!

So I did a fresh install of Windows recently because I just wanted to restart, but afterwards Warzone became incredibly unstable. CPU Usage and GPU Usage both sit around the 10 and 3 marks respectively. Before the fresh install, I would easily get 150+ fps, but now it fluctuates like crazy with the average being about 13 fps but going all the way to 194. I have tried everything I could find online, using DDU to do a complete reinstall of drivers, changing the advanced_cfg file in Documents, under and over clocking, check game files, etc. I've reinstalled Windows again too. Also I have two drives and Modern Warfare is on the SSD. The only thing that gets some resemblance of a fps bump is when I go to Task Manager and set it as "Low" priority, when I set it on High it pretty much hits 3 fps. I've ran admin on it too and same thing.... I'm not sure what's going on but my currents specs are:

Ryzen 5700x

RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra

Corsair LTX 2x16 @ 3200mhz

850w EVGA PSU

2TB WD Black NVME

2TB HDD

If anyone has another suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. I should also say, Apex, Cold War, and every other game work just fine, it is just this one for some reason.

Sounds to me like some setting got reverted that you forgot to change or a driver updated after the reinstall of Windows. If you didn't change any hardware, I'd go back through and make sure all the settings look good, in Windows and Nvidia (maybe look up a guide for Warzone). Any way to figure out what drivers (especially GPU) you had before the reinstall?
You may have tried this already, but if hardware didn't change and we can assume nothing suddenly went bad, it will almost definitely be a software issue.

Warzone has these known bugs for high end hardware, a game file repair may fix it, although it may end up with a full game reinstall.

I've already done these, but I'm gonna try again, another time may do the trick.

I always try to keep up with the latest driver, so if it isn't the current one, it should be the last one, which I've tried after the DDU thing aswell. I'm almost certain it has to be a software issue, but I haven't been able to find anything with this exact problem. I've also tried closing everything possible including background tasks.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that when I'm at the screen where you choose between warzone, multiplayer, or whatever the current placeholder thing is FPS is totally fine. But as soon as I click Warzone or Multiplayer that's when the FPS just tanks. Idk if that helps anything, probably just reaffirms it being software related
