Nas OS choice ?

Hi i recently install Truenas core into an old pc at home but i´m strugling with "plugins" 

 

My needs are filesharing and backup so i configure SMB and Nextcloud with Nginx but is not that easy for a newbie

can you recomend me another option? ( besides buying a Synology XD )

Open media vault with docker extention?

 

Or regular old ubuntu server.

I was thinking in Ubuntu server because everything is installed like a regular software 

truenas scale works with docker too

TrueNAS Scale makes it much easier to manage Docker containers and virtual machines than Core does.

 

TrueCharts will add a ton of pre-packaged applications to Scale's plugin manager, too.

Hi can you tell me if the nextcloud app in the official catalog of truenas scale is the same that the one of truecharts catalogue ?

 

i always be told that the nextcloud official plugin of truenas core was very difficult to configure

 

i already install Scale , i saw a couple of vids and i think is more "easy" than core as you advice me
