Just saw Linus review on the WRT1900AC. Linus if you seen this topic, yes more network videos plz!

Anyways, I'm here to see if you guys can help me make decisions on improving my wireless signal.

I live in a small mobile home. I have a netgear wndr3700v4 with dd-wrt. 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz, 802.11 a/n 5.0 GHz.

My two main computers is connected with via the the Gigabit Ethernet. So no problem sharing files there. But most of my wireless devices have wireless N only.

I would like to improve my wireless signal. specially for my phones. We have an, SGS3, Nexus 4, and my new HTC One m8. I've tested a the signal strength using WIFI Analyzer. and my signal drops so much in the rooms that are only like 25-30 feet away. Both in N 2.4 and 5.0.
The only one that is just a bit better is HTC.

Buying a AC wireless router will not improve wireless signal for my only wireless n devices right? or would it???

Am I better off buying a new router, or something like the Ubiquiti UniFi AP?

Pretty sure the HTC one M8 has wireless AC support.

As for upgrading to an AC router, you might notice a small performance increase for your wireless N devices, but it would be worth upgrading to AC because any device you buy in the future is most likely to benefit from it. A cheaper option would be to upgrade the antennas on your existing router, if your existing router has external, and removable antennas

My PC:

4670k      GTX 760 ACX      CoolerMaster Hyper 412s      Fractal Design Node 804      G1 Sniper M5      Corsair RM 650      WD Red 1TB     Samsung 840 Evo 120GB

ONLY 25-30 feet? thats kind far for a home network. you ust need a more powerful router that would have longer range.

i would get another acess point but dont do wireless bridging just use gigabit between the two routers(im calling it as a unit)

Yes the HTC One M8 does have wireless AC. The WNDR3700v4 has internal antennas. :(

is it?? Well I want more! LOL. This router, WNDR3700v4, is about a year old. I don't want to get another router every year, but i see what you saying, connect another router to this one using gigabit cable... but isn't that just the same as getting the Ubiquiti UniFi AP, maybe even the same price right?

How about these:

http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WPA4220KIT-ADVANCED-Universal-Powerline/dp/B00HSQAIQU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1398706514&sr=8-4&keywords=powerline+wifi+extender

They connect to your router via powerline and extend your wireless network from another part of your house
