Troubleshooting for a PS4 Controller

Hello! My PS4 controller is acting very strangely. I connected it to my PC a few months ago and it was been unplugged since. Recently I wanted to play my PS4 so I plugged it in to charge it and the next day I unplugged it and tried to turn it on, nothing. No light or any sign of life, after continual troubleshooting I tried many combinations of plugging it in, pressing the reset button for severer seconds, and resyncing it. The only time it shows any life is when its initially plugged into a power source and when it's plugged into my PC it works perfectly. Any ideas as to what I should do?

Sounds like you need a replacement battery, honestly at that point I'd recommend just buying a whole new controller since it's not worth the effort
